This photograph collection contains black and white photographic prints, negatives, slides, and 16-mm film. There are numerous
photographs related to Friend's service in the South Pacific during World War II, nature and wildlife in Georgia, Georgia
politicians and his travels around the United States and the world. Of special interest is a film Friend shot in 1958 of the
a two day seminar held at the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee, which was attended by Martin Luther King, Jr,
Rosa Parks and others. The collection also contains personal files with images and articles about his life.
